What this is

Billboard USA sells novelty advertising placements on a stylized map of America. A claim buys a display slot on one spot — a state, a three-digit ZIP region, a five-digit zip code on the national board, or a neighborhood on the Los Angeles board: your name, link, tagline, and color, shown until another customer claims the same spot at the posted takeover price. That is the entire product.

The takeover rule

Every spot starts at $1. A held spot can be claimed by anyone at any time for any amount above what the current holder paid — the minimum raise is $1, and there is no upper limit. When that happens your placement is replaced. This is disclosed before every purchase and is the core mechanic of the product.

No refunds

All sales are final. Losing a spot to a takeover does not entitle you to a refund, credit, or partial payout of the taker's payment. One exception: if your payment is captured but the claim cannot be applied — for example, someone took the spot between your checkout and your payment landing — that payment is refunded in full automatically.

Content rules

Say what you want. Hate, slurs and profanity come down without a refund.

Names, taglines, and linked sites must be legal and safe-for-work. No impersonation, no hate, no scams, no malware, no adult content, no regulated goods. We may remove any placement that breaks these rules at our sole discretion, without refund, and ban repeat offenders.

Not endorsements, not real estate

A claim is not an endorsement by us, by any city, state, or place shown on the map. It conveys no rights over any real place, trademark, or person. Boundaries — state, ZIP region, zip, and neighborhood alike — are approximate and stylized.

Availability

We aim to keep the map up but make no uptime guarantees. If we permanently shut a board down, active paid placements less than 30 days old will be refunded pro rata.
